May is a month of transition at the Signal Mountain Library. In order to make way for our upcoming Summer Enrichment Series, we’ll hold our last weekly Storytime session (until October) on Tuesday, May 20, at 11 a.m. This year, we’ve invited an interesting friend to mark the occasion - local raptor specialist Alix Parks of HappiNest, a raptor rescue service.
Parks will teach us all about birds of prey and their importance to the environment. Also, she will bring along her assistant, a red-tailed hawk named Zena.
Looking ahead to June, our first Summer Enrichment Series event takes place on Tuesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. Jennifer Daniels, a singer/songwriter from Lookout Mountain, will return to perform a live concert on our lower level. All such events are free of charge and open to everyone. No reservation required - just arrive and enjoy!
We also host two regular book clubs: Rogue Reading Club (Thursday, May 1, 2 p.m.), which chooses a topic rather than a specific book, and Library Book Club (Thursday, May 15, 2 p.m.). For current reading selections or any other questions, please call (423) 886-7323.
Regular hours of operation: M (12 - 8), T - W (10 - 6), Th (12 - 8), Sat (10 - 2).
