“What is the Tree Lighting Festival?” you may be asking. It is the Town of Signal Mountain’s holiday gift to the community, and it takes place Saturday, December 5, from 5-8 p.m. We appreciate all of you who take classes, camps and workshops at the Mountain Arts Community Center (MACC). We thank all of those who take advantage of our library. We appreciate the support of the fire and police departments. Public works appreciates the cooperation and support of the community. And, Parks and Recreation appreciates all who use the fields, the parks, the tennis courts and the pool.
The town will provide an evening filled with family activities, music, holiday decorations, some unique shopping and food. School groups and MACC teachers will provide music and performances, and volunteers will host craft activities for children. Local businesses will offer one stop shopping by setting up vendor tables.
Then, after lots of fun and fellowship, everyone will gather around the MACC Holiday Tree for the first lighting of the season.
If you haven’t stopped by already, be sure and take a look at the MAGI art exhibit in Gallery 5 at the MACC. Much of work by the Mountain Artist Guild will be for sale, making perfect Christmas presents! But the show is only up through December 11.
It’s time to register for winter classes at the MACC. Go online, or stop by the MACC to find out what we are offering for January. You can register online at signalmacc.org. If you have taken a class this fall, there no need to fill out another application form, providing no information has changed. Just send us an email, and we will register you for your new class.
We look forward to seeing you at the Tree Lighting Festival and celebrating an exciting holiday season together.
